    Het “Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN)” werd opgericht in Kathmandu in 1979 door een handvol trekking agencies. Deze realiseerden zich dat het tijd werd om de wildgroei aan trekking agencies formeel te controleren en te organiseren en tegelijkertijd dienst te doen als centrale aanspreekpartner voor de overheid. Bij de TAAN dienen we oa de permits te registeren voor de trekkinggebieden.

    De NMA (Nepali Mountaineering Association) werd, net als het TAAN, ook in 1979 opgericht. Doel was hier, om de bergbeklimmingen formeel te controleren en te organiseren en tegelijkertijd dienst te doen als centrale aanspreekpartner voor de overheid. Bij de NMA dienen we oa de trekking peak permits te registeren voor de bergbeklimmingen.
